PENETRANT TESTING

PENETRANT TESTING (PT)

Penetrant testing is one of the oldest non-destructive testing methods. This type of research is used in the construction of machines, tanks, pipelines, ships, exchangers and boilers.

Penetrant testing is based on the capillary phenomenon when the penetrant penetrates discontinuities coming to the surface and when “pulling” this liquid from the discontinuities using a highly absorbent agent called developer agent.

The NAFTO Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory is accredited to the PN EN ISO 3452-1:2021-12 and PN EN ISO 3452-6:2009-04 standards related to penetrant testing issued by the Polish Center for Accreditation.
