POSITIVE MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION (PMI)
The PMI method is a research method that allows for the analysis of the chemical composition of steel. On this basis, we can indicate the species from which a given object is made. The laboratory performs tests using an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer.
Energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence identifies elements in the examined object by detecting their characteristic XRF emission energies. PMI testing is helpful in controlling material supplies, identifying metal products, and verifying material certificates.
