ULTRASONIC TESTING UT
Ultrasonic testing involves emission of an ultrasonic wave to the tested material using a head with a piezoelectric transducer connected to a flaw detector, and then assessing on the flaw detector screen the impulses resulting from the reflection of the wave from any discontinuities in the tested object.
It is one of the cheapest and fastest methods of volumetric non-destructive testing, widely used in the steel, shipbuilding and refinery industries.
The research laboratory uses high-class equipment from companies such as Olympus.
The NAFTO Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory is accredited to the PN EN ISO 17640:2019-01 and PN EN ISO 5579:2014-02 standards related to ultrasonic testing issued by the Polish Center for Accreditation
