RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING (RT)
Radiographic testing is one of the most popular methods of volumetric testing. It allows the detection of discontinuities occurring inside the object and on its surface. Depending on the type of gamma or X-ray sources, we can X-ray objects with thicknesses ranging from 0 to several thousand millimeters.
Radiography uses the phenomenon of absorption of penetrating X and gamma radiation by various types of materials and physicochemical phenomena related to obtaining a radiographic image on film through photochemical processing. Depending on the parameters, the tested materials have various exposure times, and after completing the test, the finished radiograph is photochemically processed (developing process).
The NAFTO Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory is accredited to the PN EN ISO 17636-1:2023-02 and PN EN ISO 5579:2014-02 standards related to radiographic tests issued by the Polish Accreditation Center.
